Just this past weekend we observed Memorial Day. A day where we honor and remember the veterans who served in our country's armed forces. Veterans who fought for our freedom. Thank you to all Veterans! We Americans like our freedom. It's what our country was founded on! Just mess with those freedoms and watch the unrest that happens! Our freedoms allow us to live a life full of liberty and the pursuit of happiness! Along with some of our foundational freedoms such as freedom of speech or freedom of religion, we have so many freedoms we may take for granted on a daily basis. Freedoms like what we want to be when we 'get big', where we want to live, whether or not we want to get married, how many children we want to have (and what to name them), what kind of clothes to wear, how to wear our hair (or what color), the freedom to homeschool our children, freedom to eat as we choose, shop where we wish, buy what we want ... and on and on. Our day is filled with the freedom of so many choices from the moment we wake up! Thank God for freedom!

So because we have the freedom to make healthy choices, as well as how and where to spend our hard earned $$, many years ago I made the choice to make efforts to remove harmful substances from our household products and foods. I knew this couldn't be accomplished all at once but would be an ongoing adventure. The food aspect was fairly easy between gardening and many organic options out there. But the household/personal products part has proven to be a little more challenging. BUT thanks to my entrepreneur spirit (freedom!), I had hopes and dreams of making all my own stuff! That's how I wound up here .... making homemade soap (and more)!

I was determined to make and use products FREE of toxins and FULL of healthy stuff! When it comes to my homemade soap and body products, I believe that less is more! They are free of chemicals, dyes, and fragrances...and full of natural oils, butters, scents, and even natural coloring ... just for fun!!

Our American freedoms are a blessing and a gift! Not to be taken for granted! There's no place I'd rather live than in the Land of the Free! But did you know there is freedom available to us that far surpasses any of the wonderful physical freedoms we experience here in America?

Spiritual Freedom! The Bible tells us that, spiritually speaking, no one is free. We are all slaves - to sin. We're slaves that cannot free ourselves. Today, many people are living in spiritual slavery without even realizing it. We chase false gods of money, success, personal comfort and romantic love—only to realize we still have an emptiness that can’t be filled by any of those things. Once we are freed from the power (and penalty) of sin through the cross, we can find complete joy, peace, and true freedom!

Slave = bondage; one that is subservient to a dominating influence

Free = to relieve or rid of what restrains, confines, restricts, or disentangles

God is a big advocate of freedom. After all, He gave us a free will to either accept or reject the salvation He offers through Jesus Christ. But the Bible warns that hell is a real place for those that knowingly reject Him. I don't know about you, but after I'm done living my life in the freedoms of America, there's no place I'd rather spend eternity than in the fullness of God in Heaven!

From cover to cover, God’s Word points to freedom in Christ. And God doesn’t leave us wondering how to grab hold of the freedom He offers. It starts with acknowledging our brokenness—and admitting we are slaves to sin. And it ends with choosing Jesus and following Him daily. Only He can break the bonds of slavery and lead us to true freedom, allowing us to live life to the fullest, now and forever!

"Through Him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses." Acts 13:39

“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” John 8:36

Thank God for freedom!
